A hospital is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for locum tenens coverage.

About the clinician's workday

This position requires 24-hour call (7 AM - 7 AM) with board certification and BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications. Preferred experience includes heart and lung procedures, with vascular experience beneficial. Support staff includes six physician assistants who assist in surgery and take call alongside the MD, while PAs and APRNs handle hospital rounds and consults. The hospital census averages 25-40 patients, occasionally reaching 50, with 2-4 surgeries per MD daily. The facility uses Epic EMR.
