The Viswanathan Lab in the Division of Molecular and Cellular Oncology the Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute (DFCI) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is seeking a full-time PhD or MD/PhD for
an academic dry lab position in our program focused on the development and application of integrative
genomic methods for cancer target discovery. The position involves participation in the basic research
enterprise of the Department of Medical Oncology. The Division offers a robust array of resources to
support scientific productivity, including primary tissue biobanks, preclinical model repositories, diverse
molecular core facilities, bioinformatics support services, specialized research interest groups, and
didactic events. Multiple opportunities exist for collaboration with basic and translational researchers in
our team science-oriented program. The successful candidate is expected to develop, participate, lead, and
otherwise take an active role in the Division’s multidisciplinary research activities.
The position is based in both the Department of Medical Oncology at DFCI and the Department of
Medicine at the BWH and includes collaboration with other institutions affiliated with the Dana-
Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and the Harvard Medical School.
The chosen candidate will teach and supervise students, technicians, and post-doctoral fellows in the
laboratory setting.
The academic appointment will be at the Instructor level at Harvard Medical School and determined by
the applicant's credentials. The term of this Instructor appointment is one year from start date. The
appointment is typically renewable annually for a maximum of four years. Salary and benefits will be
competitive with other institutions. Applicants should have a PhD or MD/PhD degree.
