Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) invites exceptional candidates to apply for a transformative dual leadership role: Co-Director of the IU Health/IUSM Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) and Division Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine. This pivotal position offers the opportunity to shape the future of cardiovascular care, education, and research within one of the nation’s largest medical schools in partnership with IU Health, a premier health system.

As Co-Director of the IUH/IUSM CVI, you will co-lead a visionary initiative alongside the Department of Surgery co-lead, driving collaborative strategies that align the interests of IU Health and IUSM. This role involves developing innovative cardiovascular services and research programs, enhancing patient access, implementing strategic service plans, and elevating Indiana to national prominence in cardiovascular care, including achieving top-tier U.S. News and World Report rankings. The Co-Director reports to both the President of the Adult Academic Health Center and the President of IU Health Medical Group.

As Division Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine, you will lead an esteemed team of academic faculty, advancing impactful research, education, and clinical innovations. Responsibilities include driving research through the Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center, strengthening education programs, and expanding clinical services across IU Health’s statewide network. The Division Chief reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Medicine.

The ideal candidate will be a board-certified cardiologist with a national reputation in the field, a strong track record of impactful funded research, and exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and collaborative abilities. Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent terminal degree, with an academic rank commensurate with experience.
