Position Description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Community-based Generalist Division is seeking a full-time academic clinician specialist at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank. This is a unique position - one which combines the clinical setting, volume, and experience akin to private practice while having all the advantages of being within the university setting, including specialists, conferences, and teaching opportunities. This faculty position will be responsible for direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology and will have opportunities for scholarly work either in education or research if desired.

This individual will work at a main ambulatory clinic site with a diverse patient population and at the Childbirth Center and ORs at UWMC-Northwest. The faculty member will have opportunities to participate in resident and medical student education including clinical teaching, didactics, simulation activities, and quality improvement/patient safety. Opportunities for career growth and leadership are available. This position has a 12-month service period (July 1- June 30) with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2025, or thereafter.

The base salary range for this position will be: $19,167 - $25,000 per month ($230,004 - $300,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington Medical Center campuses and Harborview Medical Center, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington is committed to an inclusive environment and to reducing inequities in patient care through education, research, leadership and excellence in clinical care. We strongly believe that diversity enriches training, scientific discovery and promotes the best healthcare.
