We are seeking a full-time academic generalist at the Associate Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT) rank in General Obstetrics and Gynecology to join the Generalist Division with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. This faculty position will be responsible for direct patient care and will have opportunities for scholarly work either in education or research if desired. This individual will be responsible for direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology work at several possible ambulatory clinic sites with diverse patient populations, ORs with medical students and residents, and Labor and Delivery at University of Washington Montlake. The faculty member will participate in resident and medical student education including clinical teaching, didactics, simulation activities, and quality improvement/patient safety. Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July - June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be $22,500 - $29,167 per month ($270,000 - $350,004) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree. A foreign equivalent is acceptable
  • Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology or foreign equivalent
  • Excellent record of clinical service in general obstetrics (inpatient and outpatient), to include at least 5 years of experience.
  • Gynecologic surgical proficiency required. Robotic experience is not necessary.
  • Demonstration of prior outstanding scholarly work in education, research, quality improvement or administrative experience.
  • All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
