Orthopedic Sports Surgery Opportunity with Kaiser Permanente in Fresno, California
Fulfilling the promise of medicine
Kaiser Permanente / The Permanente Medical Group
The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (TPMG - Kaiser Permanente Northern California) is one of the largest medical groups in the nation with over 9,500 physicians, 22 medical centers, numerous clinics throughout Northern and Central California, and a 75-year tradition of providing quality medical care.
Opportunity for a Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon
Opening in Fresno, California
We are seeking a fellowship-trained orthopedic shoulder/elbow surgeon to join our collegial, well-established team. Our group includes 3 Total Joint surgeons, 2 Sports surgeons (this position is to replace 1 of the sports surgeons), 2 Hand surgeons, 1 Trauma surgeon, and 2 Non-Operative Sports Medicine specialists.
Role Highlights:
- Surgical Practice Scope: Bread and butter high-volume Sports Medicine practice. Ability to perform Shoulder Arthroplasty comfortably is highly desired. Hip Arthroscopy is optional.
- Schedule: Operating room time is 1-2 days per week, 1:8 general call for a tertiary-level center (mostly hip fractures). We practice a shared-call system meaning the non-emergent operative cases that present after hours roll over to your partner the next day, so late-night surgery when on call is rare. We are not a pediatric center so no urgent peds trauma (i.e. supracondylars).
- Surgical Infrastructure: We are a high-functioning and collaborative group. We have 6 PAs who support our practice. Because of our geographic isolation from the rest of TPMG, we take comprehensive care of our local patient population and rarely refer out.
Located in the heart of California, Fresno County possesses unmatched natural beauty and outdoor recreations - but it also features the metropolitan amenities of Fresno, the state's fifth largest city, affordable housing and outstanding School Districts.
TPMG Fresno serves the largest geographical service area in Northern California, and we are experiencing rapid growth and expansion, service over 1.1 M people and is one of the most diverse communities in the county.
