The Department of Surgery, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship trained colon and rectal surgeon to join our team for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery.Patients with of a wide variety of conditions including colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, and complex anorectal issues are managed in this division using open, endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical approaches. Advanced robotic experience is desired. The applicant must have a commitment to research and education and will work closely with medical students, residents, and fellows. The Department of Surgery currently trains one Complex General Surgical Oncology fellow per year, with extensive contact with the colorectal surgeons. As there is a large volume of complex benign and malignant colorectal disease, our division plans to establish a Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Program and is pursuing an application for the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer. There are ample leadership opportunities in this division.Hospital environments include Commission on Cancer accredited academic and satellite community programs and a safety net hospital. Across all settings, our surgeons have access to nine robotic platforms. Candidates must have appropriate board certification and licensure. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans.
