TidalHealth on Maryland's coast is seeking a dedicated and experienced OBGYN Laborist to join our dynamic team. As a laborist, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to laboring patients and work collaboratively with our team of obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This is a full-time, hospital-based position offering a flexible schedule and excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide immediate obstetric care in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring a safe and efficient delivery process.
  • Manage and support laboring patients, including performing deliveries, C-sections, and other emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to pregnant patients.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal health and manage complications during labor and delivery.
  • Provide consultation and backup support for the inpatient obstetric unit.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and compliance with all regulatory and hospital policies.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and support quality assurance efforts related to obstetric care.

Faculty and Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Core Faculty in the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
  • Provide didactic teaching and clinical supervision to residents and medical students.
  • Mentor residents in clinical practice, guiding them through labor and delivery cases, surgical procedures, and emergency scenarios.
  • Conduct regular teaching rounds, conferences, and educational sessions for residents and the broader clinical team.
  • Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the academic advancement of the residency program.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research, case presentations, and publications.
  • Participate in program evaluation and development.
Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Ability to obtain a Maryland license.
  • Strong clinical skills, including the ability to manage complicated deliveries and emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification (or the ability to obtain).
