TidalHealth on Maryland's coast is seeking a dedicated and experienced OBGYN Laborist to join our dynamic team. As a laborist, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to laboring patients and work collaboratively with our team of obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This is a full-time, hospital-based position offering a flexible schedule and excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide immediate obstetric care in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring a safe and efficient delivery process.
- Manage and support laboring patients, including performing deliveries, C-sections, and other emergency procedures as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to pregnant patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal health and manage complications during labor and delivery.
- Provide consultation and backup support for the inpatient obstetric unit.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
- Ensure thorough documentation and compliance with all regulatory and hospital policies.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and support quality assurance efforts related to obstetric care.
Faculty and Teaching Responsibilities:
- Serve as Core Faculty in the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
- Provide didactic teaching and clinical supervision to residents and medical students.
- Mentor residents in clinical practice, guiding them through labor and delivery cases, surgical procedures, and emergency scenarios.
- Conduct regular teaching rounds, conferences, and educational sessions for residents and the broader clinical team.
- Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the academic advancement of the residency program.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research, case presentations, and publications.
- Participate in program evaluation and development.
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Ability to obtain a Maryland license.
- Strong clinical skills, including the ability to manage complicated deliveries and emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
- Current BLS/ACLS certification (or the ability to obtain).
