Cardiovascular Service Line Senior Medical Director
Cardiovascular Service Line Senior Medical Director at St. Charles Health System leads the strategic and operational management of cardiovascular programs. This includes planning, development, quality improvement, and patient safety. The director spearheads the adoption of digital technologies and advances team-based care models across the system. They co-lead operations with the Cardiovascular Service Line Administrator, ensuring clinical excellence, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead clinical quality, innovation, and physician productivity across all cardiovascular divisions.
- Ensure high standards in patient care, clinical pathways, and relationships with referring physicians.
- Collaborate on operational duties, such as staffing, financial management, and performance reporting.
- Provide patient care and ensure community engagement in preventive and curative services.
- Advance telemedicine and implement shared decision-making models to enhance patient care.
- Build a 15-year plan for cardiovascular services based on population growth.
- Support recruitment, workforce development, and maintain high physician retention.
Strategic Leadership:
- Align cardiovascular services with St. Charles Health System strategy, driving value-based care models.
- Coordinate care among employed and independent providers, set annual priorities, and enhance simulation and accreditation capabilities.
Operational Leadership:
- Conduct administrative rounding, oversee quality and safety, and participate in Morbidity and Mortality reviews.
- Foster partnerships with independent community providers.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree, completed residency, and fellowship in cardiology or cardiothoracic surgery.
- Board certification in cardiology or related fields, and an Oregon MD/DO license preferred.
- Leadership experience in integrated health systems, preferably with over 10 years in cardiology and 5 years in leadership roles.
Skills:
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft applications.
