The University of California, Irvine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of
Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery is seeking a fellowship-trained academic
urogynecologist for a full-time position. This position is ideally suited to an Assistant or
Associate Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series. We aim to recruit a
physician who will provide outstanding clinical and surgical care to our diverse patient
population.
The University of California, Irvine has a dedicated team of 6 board-certified URPS faculty, and
we are proud of our nationally recognized Public University Hospital and three-year integrated
fellowship with Kaiser Permanente of Orange County. To promote our research mission, the
division provides faculty with departmental statistical support, a director of research, clinical
research coordinators, seed funding, and a regulatory coordinator. There are ample opportunities
to collaborate with basic and translational scientists across multiple disciplines and departments.
This position will be clinically active and have time devoted to research and education. We are
seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual who has a reputation of outstanding clinical
excellence, and a passion for research and education.
Clinical responsibilities will include the outpatient and surgical care of patients with pelvic floor
disorders. Qualified applicants should have experience in the evaluation and management of
pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, genitourinary fistulae, bladder pain syndrome, mesh
complications, obstructed defecation, recurrent UTI, and fecal incontinence. Experience with
office procedures is desired, including complex urodynamic studies, diagnostic and operative
cystoscopy, urethral bulking injections, intravesical botulinum toxin injections, sacral
neuromodulation, and percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation. Candidates should be accomplished
robotic/laparoscopic and vaginal surgeons.
Requirement include completion of a 4-year ACGME accredited OB-GYN residency and a 3-year accredited fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery required.
