PROGRAM: At the Harvard Medical School, Boston, applications are now being accepted for a one-year, degree-granting, full-time fellowship beginning July 2025. Supported by The Commonwealth Fund, this unique fellowship is designed to prepare physicians, particularly physicians from groups underrepresented in medicine, to become leaders who improve the health of historically marginalized populations. Fellows focus on transforming health care delivery systems and promoting innovation in policies, practices and programs that address health equity and the social determinants of health. Program offers intensive study in leadership/health policy, public health, and management. Fellows complete academic work leading to a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health or a Master of Public Administration degree at the Harvard Kennedy School. Fellows also participate in leadership forums and seminars with nationally recognized leaders in health care delivery systems, minority health, and health policy; site visits, shadowing, and practicum projects.
QUALIFICATIONS: BC/BE required; experience in addressing health needs of historically marginalized populations; interest in health policy; interest in transforming health care delivery systems for historically marginalized populations; U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
FUNDING: $80,000 stipend; tuition and fees; individual health insurance; other program expenses.
