Opportunity Details
The candidate must have experience in general cardiology and non-invasive imaging cardiac imaging, mainly echocardiography. Ample opportunities also exist for practicing advanced cardiac imaging if the candidate has expertise in areas of Cardiac CT and MR. An expertise or interest in Heart Failure will be highly desirable but not required. Care will be provided in multiple settings including In-Patient, Out-Patient, Tele-Cardiology and Outreach Cardiology visits. The ideal candidate will need to participate in the teaching of students, residents, and fellows.
The Fresno VA is a core training site for the University of California San Francisco, Fresno Medical Education Residency Program. With a faculty appointment, opportunities for resident supervision, teaching, and clinical research will be available. UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
Licensure: Full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
U.S. Citizenship: non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Expected Salary ranges from $325,000 to 325,000
May include up to $15,000 in Annual Performance Bonus
Candidates may be eligible for a Sign-on Bonus

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

The medical center is situated on 18.5 acres and is a 57-bed acute care, general medical and surgical center with state-of-the-art primary and secondary care in major diagnostic and treatment specializations, including a 12-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, and three CBOC’s. A 54-bed Community Living Center is located on campus and provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation care.
