Job Summary:
Specializes in the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases. Ensures proper disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Works with Leadership, Billing, Ancillary Team, etc. Makes recommendations/suggestions to improve Clinic operations. See patients at Midway Specialty Care Center, Inc.’s (MSCC) office(s).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specializes in the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases. Ensures proper disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Works with Leadership, Billing, Ancillary Team, etc. Makes recommendations/suggestions to improve Clinic operations. See patients at Midway Specialty Care Center, Inc.’s (MSCC) office(s).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing medical examinations, treatments and other medical services within the field of Infectious Diseases to such members of the public as may be accepted by MSCC as patients, and shall do all that is reasonably required in the furnishing of said services within the direction and control of MSCC.
- Perform any other duties reasonably requested by MSCC including, but not limited to, any responsibilities of MSCC set forth in any agreement between MSCC and any insurer, HMO, or other third party, relating to the provisions of medical services of the type practiced.
- At all times, act in a manner consistent with all applicable laws concerning the practice of medicine, the standards and requirements of any national or local supervisory boards, and the applicable canons of professional ethics.
- Comply with such policies, procedures, rules and regulations as may be adopted from time to time. Agrees to maintain and improve clinical skills.
- Keep and maintain in a legible form and/or any other form of transmission, but in any event, in a timely manner such records relating to all services rendered as may reasonably required and shall prepare all reports, claims, correspondence and other documentation necessary or appropriate under the circumstance. All such documentation shall belong to MSCC.
- Perform all of the duties that may be required, and to the best of the provider’s ability and experience. Such duties shall be rendered at such place or places as MSCC shall in good faith require or as the reasonable interests and needs of MSCC patient may require.
- Utilize best efforts to be a participating provider and accept assignment for payment under Medicare and other third party payor programs and shall use his best efforts to participate with any third party payor, including any HMO and PPO, that MSCC participates with
- Adheres to the Company’s Disruptive Physician and/or Provider Policy:
- According to the American Medical Association "Disruptive Behavior" is defined as personal conduct, whether verbal or physical, that negatively affects or that potentially may negatively affect patient care, including conduct that interferes with the ability to work with members of the health care team. Such behavior can be passive, such as ignoring calls or frequently missing meetings, passive aggressive, such as excessive sarcasm or veiling threats and/or aggressive, such as yelling or bullying.
- All staff members are to be treated with dignity and respect. All members of the Medical Staff and Ancillary Staff are expected to refrain from making disparaging remarks toward others, whether coworkers, patients, outside reps or those involved in the day to day operations of the business. No retaliation toward any staff member reporting disruptive incidents will be tolerated.
- Work with electronic health record systems currently in use, internationally and those in development.
- Attend and participate at summits/symposiums, staff meetings and various other meetings as needed.
- Complete annual mandatory trainings as required.
- Maintains unrestricted active staff privileges at local hospitals and medical facilities.
- Participates in group office on-call coverage.
- Responsible for oversight and supervision of assigned APRN(s).
- Maintain professional attire & appearance.
- Write and speak in a professional manner at all times.
- Adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a high level of integrity and ethics.
- Excellent skills in conflict resolution, oral and written communication, setting of strategic direction, and ability to lead teams.
- Familiarity with quality, safety, and population health initiatives.
- Possession of a medical degree from an appropriately accredited educational institutional institution.
- Current board certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
- Federal Drug Enforcement Agency License.
- Active medical license in the State of Florida.
