Infectious Disease Clinical Physician
Overview:
We have an opening for an Infectious Disease Faculty position in Central Brooklyn. One Brooklyn Health is the combination of three-hospitals in one system (Brookdale/Interfaith/Kingsbrook Jewish). In the last three years we have opened a residency in neurology and fellowships in GI, Pulm/Crit, Palliative and Endocrine in addition to the Renal, Heme/Onc and Cardiology that we already had. Family practice will start next year.The position is 100% ID, predominantly as an inpatient consultant across the system. Resident support is always there. There are opportunities most welcome for ambulatory HIV based on candidate's interest. We have a full-time research director, and the candidate can participate based on their interests. The position also entails routine teaching of medical students and residents and provides sufficient time to allow for publications and participation in the academic life of the hospital. Faculty appointments are available at Downstate and several other schools with which our hospital is a central, and expanding campus.
One Brooklyn Health is 30 minutes from Manhattan and 20 minutes from the most vibrantly growing theatre district and restaurant row in the US which is in Brooklyn. Come to Brooklyn! It is worth the trip!

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with suspected or confirmed infectious diseases
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with infectious diseases, including prescribing appropriate medications
- Provide ongoing care and management for patients with chronic or recurrent infections
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in the field of infectious diseases
- Participate in clinical research studies related to infectious diseases
- Educate patients and their families about infectious diseases, prevention strategies, and treatment options
Experience:
- Board certification in Infectious Disease
- Proven experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of infectious diseases
- Strong knowledge of clinical research methodologies and practices
- Proficiency in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to infectious diseases
- Experience in adult education, including curriculum development and teaching
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EMR) and other healthcare technologies
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
