The University of Vermont and Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine are conducting a search for the dual position as Chief, Division of Geriatrics and Director, Center on Aging. This is a critically important appointment for a physician executive committed to geriatrics and gerontology.
As Chief, this person will lead a geriatrics division committed to excellence in clinical care, research, and education. The Chief will set strategic goals and objectives aligned with the department’s mission and vision and contribute to the overall growth and success of the Division. The Chief will ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services to elderly patients. Specific duties include fostering the career development of faculty and other professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and excellence in patient care, and fostering the academic mission of the Division and Department.
As Director of the Center on Aging, this person will coordinate and support collaborative gerontological and geriatric research on the campus of the University of Vermont. The Director will foster educational opportunities in gerontology and geriatrics for students, staff, faculty, the lay community, and health care and human service providers throughout the state and region. There is an opportunity to continue to shape the Center on Aging’s vision and expand the Center’s research profile.
This critical position requires a passionate, entrepreneurial, and collaborative leader dedicated to bringing this well-regarded Division and Center to the next level of excellence. The physician leader will possess a proven track record across multiple areas, including individual scholarship, collaborative clinical leadership, program development, educational excellence, successful faculty recruitment and career development, and community engagement.
