The site with a volume of 6,700 patients has single MD coverage, while higher-volume sites (up to 38,000) have 24-36 hours of MD coverage and 24 hours of APC coverage. All physician shifts are 12 hours, and coverage is needed at three EDs. An active Texas license is required, and physicians must be BC/BE in EM, FM, or IM with ED experience. Both day and night shifts are available, and travel, lodging, and malpractice are covered.
