ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL EDUCATION
Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is a national leader in integrating community- based medical education and clinical care. We are dedicated to training socially accountable physicians, scientists, and health professionals committed to serving the community. The College of Medicine is an academic and clinical affiliate of Baptist Health, South Florida’s largest not-for-profit health system.
The College of Medicine seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, within the Department of Medical Education. The Assistant/Associate Professor will join a team internationally recognized for social accountability and inspirational approaches to health professions education. Teaching duties include supervising interprofessional student household visits as part of the Community Engaged Physician course series, teaching clinical skills and various other subjects across the curriculum, and supervising student population health focused community practicum projects. The qualified candidate will also provide clinical care on behalf of the college, collaborate in grant writing and research, and participate in other academic administrative duties.
Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree in the medical sciences (MD or DO). Must be board certified or obtain board certification within one (1) year of employment. Must have an unrestricted Florida medical license or be able to obtain a medical license in the state of Florida.
