About the clinician's workday

Emergency privileges are requested, though the typical credentialing process takes 120 days. The provider will handle inpatient cases, with responsibilities across OB and gynecology. OB cases include both low- and high-risk pregnancies, ultrasounds, amniocentesis, routine and complicated labor and delivery, VBACs, and C-sections. Gynecology cases involve GYN surgery, office procedures, minor surgeries, and circumcisions. The average daily census is 6, with 3 daily admissions. The average monthly deliveries and high-risk deliveries vary, and OB cases make up the majority of cases, with 1% being rare pediatric GYN cases. The support staff includes CNMs in labor and delivery at all times, and on-call OBs are available 24/7. There is in-house anesthesia available.
