RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR, GENERAL SURGERY
Salary Range: $350,000-$400,000 Per Year

We are looking for a Program Director for our General Surgery Residency program who will provide strategic leadership, guidance, oversight, and supervision to ensure compliance with relevant laws, collective bargaining agreements, and ACGME/RRC requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meticulously plan, develop, implement, and improve the residency/fellowship program to shape the future of our medical students
- Supervise and ensure the quality of both theoretical and practical education at all locations
- Manage admissions, orientation, hospital-wide graduation, teaching conferences, group interview sessions, internal reviews, and meetings of the Clinical Competency and Program Evaluation Committee
- Conduct quality assurance, patient safety, and risk management activities
- Contribute to educational programs for medical students and maintain an environment that supports the education of the residents in each ACGME competency area
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in the outpatient and/or inpatient services of the department
- Organize duty hours and on-call periods to prioritize patient needs, continuity of care, and resident education, while meeting the institution's, ACGME's, and the appropriate RRC's requirements
- Coordinate educational activities for residents as mandated by TBHC and ACGME
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a graduate of an accredited medical school with related experience
- Possesses a current New York State license to practice medicine
- Is board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery with current certification in the specialty by ABP
- Has familiarity with competency-based curriculum for residency training
- Is eligible or credentialed in the NY Medicaid program and other managed care plans
- Can maintain the highest standards of professional behavior and serve as a role model to all residents
- Can obtain medical staff appointment and maintain staff privileges
