Northwell Health s Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a Director, Pediatric PST to join our expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to innovate and streamline perioperative care across the diverse pediatric landscape. The role is a combination of both clinical and administrative responsibilities. Qualified applicants must be board-certified in Pediatric Anesthesia and have completed a ACGME accredited Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship.
Cohen Children s Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center and a major tertiary care center for children including all surgical specialties: neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, orthopedics, ENT, plastic surgery, urology, general surgery, ophthalmology, and transplant medicine. It is also home to a level 4 NICU partnering with the high-risk maternal fetal medicine team at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Our team of pediatric anesthesiologists are recognized at national level for their proficiency and innovation in pediatric regional anesthesia and acute pain management, providing pediatric patients with access to regional analgesia and anesthesia 24/7 and performing one of the highest volumes of regional blocks for children in the region. Faculty receive additional regional anesthesia training, if needed, when joining our staff.
Pediatric anesthesiologists are eligible to hold an academic title with the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Faculty are involved with teaching as part of our ACGME pediatric anesthesia fellowship and residency in anesthesiology, as well as our Zucker School of Medicine students. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology is part of the Department of Anesthesiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Division faculty have diverse clinical, research, and educational interests and benefit from the resources associated with a large academic department.
Cohen Children's Northwell Health is the largest provider of pediatric healthcare in New York State and has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best children's hospitals in the country. The division of pediatric anesthesiology is one of the largest teams of pediatric anesthesiologists in New York with approximately 25 pediatric faculty on staff. The children s hospital boasts brand new state-of-the-art pediatric operating rooms opened in 2022. Additional anesthetizing locations include non-operating room sedation such as MRI, GI, hematology-oncology, cardiac cath lab, radiology, interventional radiology, as well as our ambulatory
surgical center.
