Naval Hospital Bremerton (NHB) is a United States Navy hospital located on Naval Station Bremerton in Bremerton, Washington . Located 10 minutes from Tacoma and Seattle, 20 minutes from Olympia, the state capitol. NH Bremerton is situated in a key location along Interstate 5, allowing easy access to Sea-Tac Airport and to the deep-water ports of Tacoma and Seattle. Although the Army and Air Force missions have changed over the years, one thing has not changed-the natural setting of the base. Majestic Mount Rainier looms on the horizon, towering over the other peaks of the Cascade Range. Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a Physician (Pediatrics), responsible for diagnosis, treatment, and the prevention of all diseases and provides total health care for newborns up to young adults up to 23 years of age.
  • Performs detailed assessment of the health status and health maintenance of individual patients.
  • Prescribes treatment appropriate for the patient's needs and conditions.
  • Ensures that intakes for initial evaluations have been completed.
  • Communicates with patient's guardians in a timely and concise manner to ensure access to care and to continuously reassess the process for availability of services.
  • Examines, diagnoses, and treats children with a variety of developmental disabilities.
  • Completes medical record charting with accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness.
  • Performs telephonic after-hours call shared with other providers as needed.


Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

US Citizenship required

Board Certified/Eligible

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).

Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
