An opportunity for an organizational leader guiding a rich history of over 150 years supporting the San Francisco community’s health care needs with innovation, respect, and compassion. 

San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) consists of two divisions, Population Health Division (PHD) and the San Francisco Health Network (SFHN).  Together they work continually to improve the health and well-being of all San Franciscans.  The SFHN is a community of top-rated clinics, hospitals, and programs including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) level 1 trauma center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center (LHH), and Ambulatory Care Clinics (includes: Jail Health Services, Primary Care, Maternal Child Adolescent Health, Whole Person Integrated Care, and HIV Services) throughout San Francisco. SFHN works in partnership with UCSF, we continue to lead in the areas of health innovation research and providing compassionate care for the whole community and whole persons on their level.

 

What makes you successful:
• A Sr. Physician leader experienced in supporting different levels of leadership responsibilities, preferably in a large hospital and clinic organization.  Extensive clinical operations and leadership experience within large diverse teams across multiple disciplines and lines of service.
• Navigating within urban, metro, and rural organizational structures.
• A leader that understands today’s landscape within healthcare. Can maintain the commitment to provide innovation, progressive, and best of care to the underserved populations and communities of San Francisco.
• Successfully navigating and working within a matrixed reporting structure, with direct and indirect reporting staff.
• Physician leader that understands and/or has experience within an academic facility. Developing agreements relating to a progressive oversight of the academic physicians. Your experience within or connections with an academic program.


Qualifying requirements:
• California Board Medical or Osteopathic, valid, unrestricted licensure. (May have outside CA licensure prior to an appointment)
• US Department of Justice, valid and unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency registration.
• 3 years’ experience within an administrative role of a large general teaching hospital or related organization, or the combination of training and experience within a complex health care administrative.
