The Department of Surgery is seeking an Academic General Surgeon at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level to join our full-time General Surgery faculty and assume the role of Program Director of the General Surgery Residency.    

Primary responsibilities for this position include authority and accountability for the General Surgery training program, including compliance with all applicable program requirements. Further, the position will include teaching of all levels of learners (students, resident, and fellows), patient care, and participation in scholarly activities.  The successful applicant will be able to collaborate with referring providers to develop a clinical surgical practice at our affiliate hospital(s) and display a strong interest in teaching General Surgery residents and students.  Experience in a leadership position in surgical education such as Associate Program Director, Clerkship Director, or similar is desired.

Applicants must hold an MD/DO or equivalent degree, be a graduate of an ACGME residency or fellowship, American Board of Surgery Certified in General Surgery, qualified to obtain Oklahoma licensure, and eligible for credentialing under OU Health Physicians as well as area medical facilities.  Additional fellowship training and/or board certification in a surgical sub-specialty is desired but not required.
