Under the clinical and administrative supervision of the VP of Medical Mental Health Services, the Lead PCP will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with physical health conditions requiring medical intervention. You will collaborate closely with our program psychiatrist and nursing staff to address the complex needs of patients with medical histories or conditions that necessitate further evaluation and treatment. Your role will be pivotal in evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and referring patients to higher levels of medical care as clinically indicated.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in shaping our healthcare delivery by training and mentoring providers, including physicians and advanced practitioners. Your leadership will help achieve performance and quality measures, develop strategies to enhance communication across medical and non-medical departments, and manage day-to-day operations. You will also be instrumental in developing, implementing, and reviewing clinical policies and protocols, conducting peer reviews, and collaborating with administrators to ensure our strategic goals are met.

This unique role allows you to spend 80% of your time directly impacting patient care, while 20% of your time will be dedicated to essential administrative duties that support our mission. What qualifications you will need:




  • Graduation from an approved college of medicine or osteopathy, with completion of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatric residency training. Must be Board eligible (and preferably Board certified in or certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatric Medicine.


  • Ideal candidates must have 3 to 5 years of experience in a leadership role and supervisory experience. Prefer experience in ambulatory primary care, community health, and/or behavioral health. Familiarity with the SMI population. Experience with a diverse and unserved population in an urban setting.

Other Key Qualifications

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas according to the Texas Board of Medical Examiners. Must have a DEA number, a Texas Department of Public Safety Controlled Substance Number, and Triplicate Prescriptions for duties related to patient care.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Extensive Knowledge of current healthcare needs and issues of children, adolescents, and adults Must have knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and diagnostic evaluation. Must have basic knowledge of principles of the development, implementation and documentation of individualized care and treatment.
