Academic Cardiologists – Heart Failure

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is searching for full-time faculty at any rank who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with advanced heart failure. We especially welcome applicants with demonstrated experience in a collaborative practice engaged in clinical care and research. Clinical responsibilities will include providing care to a complex group of patients hospitalized with heart failure and cardiogenic shock; development of an outpatient clinical practice; performance of right heart catheterization, endomyocardial biopsy and implantable pressure monitor insertion (CardioMEMS). Appointees will provide outreach to UChicago Medicine sites including the Chicagoland suburbs and/or Northwest Indiana. Other duties will include teaching and supervising trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be ABIM Certified in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease, and 4) be eligible or certified to implant pulmonary artery pressure monitors.

To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago’s Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: http:/apply.interfolio.com/143511. Applicants must upload a CV including bibliography and cover letter. Review of applications ends when all available positions are filled.
