The Department of Neurology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso s Foster School of Medicine is seeking a neurologist to join its faculty.
Major Functions:
Provide inpatient and outpatient general adult neurology clinical services, including neuromuscular or clinical neurophysiology services in the assigned neurology outpatient clinic.
Offer consultation services in affiliated hospitals.
Deliver direct patient care and consultative service to other medical professionals.
Diagnose and treat general adult neurological patients, including interpreting diagnostic tests such as
EEGs/EMGs and treating various peripheral nerve and muscle disorders.
Supervise resident clinics and contribute to the overall teaching program for residents and medical
students, including presenting lectures.
Engage in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
Serve the academic community through participation in institutional governance
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations and adheres to institutional and departmental
policies and procedures
Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine s Declaration of
Faculty Professional Responsibility
Minimum Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. degree
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency program.
Texas Medical License, or be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (Spanish and English).
Fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine or clinical neurophysiology from an accredited
program in the United States.
Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher
level.
Certification and/or experience in neuromuscular medicine/clinical neurophysiology.
Board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
