The Mayo Clinic Arizona Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a clinically focused physician consultant in adult infectious diseases for an expanding academic hospital and outpatient based practice at our Phoenix, Arizona campus. The Infectious Diseases practice serves Mayo’s expanding medical and surgical practices, external referring providers across the Southwest , the Mayo Clinic cancer center, and our large solid organ and bone marrow transplant program at our growing campus in Phoenix. Current infectious diseases specialty focuses include Solid organ transplantation, Hematology-oncology and bone marrow transplantation, Coccidioidomycosis, Mycobacterial Infections, Microbiome-based therapeutics, Travel Medicine , Prevention and Control of Healthcare associated Infections, Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
The division currently consists of 8 physicians, 2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacists and two advanced practice practitioners who are engaged in a busy clinical practice, research and education. Our faculty staff 3 inpatient ID services at the Mayo Cliinc Hospital and one of the busiest infectious disease outpatient practices in the Southwest USA. Our practice includes in-person care, telehealth and multidisciplinary clinics. Faculty will have a teaching appointment in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and will be involved in the training of infectious disease fellows, residents, and medical students. In addition to the clinical responsibilities our team is expected to be academically productive. The candidate will spend their time in both the outpatient and inpatient practices.
Qualified candidates must be ABIM board eligible or certified in Infectious Diseases, possess excellent interpersonal skills, be team oriented and motivated to succeed both clinically and academically. This position is not available to J-1 VISA applicants.
