The University of Florida Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, part of UF Health, the Southeast's most comprehensive academic health center, invites applicants for a full-time, Tenure/Non-Tenure track, Ast/Aso/Full Professor position in General Gastroenterology and/or a GI Subspecialty. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications.

UF Gastroenterology is a regional referral center with state-of-the-art endoscopy labs providing general and advanced endoscopy services (therapeutic ERCP/EUS and endoscopic mucosal dissection), a cutting-edge GI motility lab, and established multidisciplinary collaborations in the areas of lung transplant, pulmonology, neurology and movement disorders, bariatric and obesity, fatty liver, pelvic floor, pancreatitis, and diabetes to name a few. UF Health is home to one of the top Liver Transplant centers, completing over 140 transplants per year, and is the only program in the country to reach 14 out of 15 possible bars in SRTR’s five-tier outcome system.

Multiple collaborative research and clinical trials opportunities exist in the areas of Motility, Pancreatic Diseases, GI malignancy, experimental and animal endoscopy, IBD, new technology development, obesity, and gut microbiome, supraesophageal reflux, and movement disorders.

The Division is the recipient of the U01 - Consortium for the Study of Chronic Pancreatitis, Diabetes and Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Centers; the U01 – Type 1 Diabetes in Acute Pancreatitis Consortium Clinical Centers; and the R01 – Role of Bacteria in Colitis-Associated Colon Cancer, all from the NIH.

The program trains 13 Gastroenterology fellows and 1-2 Advanced Endoscopy fellows per year, and education of residents and medical students is also expected. Academic appointment is commensurate with experience.

The Gainesville region has an inexpensive cost of living, nationally ranked middle and high schools, and superb weather with endless year-round recreational opportunities.
