The Lexington Medical Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our STS 3 Star cardiovascular program. Our team of surgeons perform all routine cardiothoracic procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, Ascending and Descending Aortic Aneurysm, VATS and Robotic Lobectomies. The ideal candidate will be well trained in all cardiothoracic procedures as well as being a team player who is passionate about patient care. The Lexington Medical Heart and Vascular Center is a multidisciplinary group which includes cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery.
In 2023, our Cardiothoracic Surgeons performed 402 open heart procedures and 187 TAVRs for a total of 589 cardiac cases. Our Cardiothoracic Surgeons work alongside our team of Cardiologists in our Structural Heart Program, supported by weekly clinics and meetings to review, and discuss cases for optimized outcomes. Our surgeons also support our lung cancer screening program which continues to see increasing volumes and results in over 100 lobectomies annually.
Lexington Medical Center is the first hospital in South Carolina to receive HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence awarded by the American College of Cardiology. Our cardiologists lead an ACC Accredited Chest Pain Center of Excellence and were awarded the Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. As the region s premier heart program, Lexington Medical Heart and Vascular Center combines advanced medicine and state-of-the-art technology with compassionate care for patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Lexington Medical Center has three state of the art cardiovascular operating rooms suites to support our intricate diagnostic and minimally invasive intervention procedures. As part of the gold standard for treating our early stage lung cancer patients, Lexington Medical Center offers minimally invasive and robotic assisted surgery operations aimed at reducing the duration from detection to treatment.
