Psychiatrist - Regional Medical Director - Natchaug Hospital

There are no limits to what you can achieve when you join Hartford HealthCare's Behavioral Health Network (BHN). The BHN - New England's largest - is a nationally recognized and respected provider of behavioral health services in CT.

When people in Eastern Connecticut need help with behavioral health - whether for psychiatric illness or chemical dependency - they turn to Natchaug Hospital. The hospital's 57-bed facility in Mansfield Center, Connecticut, provides inpatient care for over 650 children and adolescents and 1,300 adults with mental illness or substance abuse issues each year.

The Medical Director for Psychiatry in the East Region provides leadership and direction to administrative and clinical phases of behavioral health services including Inpatient and Outpatient Services, mental health and addiction treatment services and behavioral health research within the Behavioral Health Network. Provides direct supervision to the Department's physician/physician extender and allied health professional staff and is responsible for ensuring the quality and continuity of services delivered.

• As a senior medical leader, provide vision, hope, and inspiration to the staff (medical and otherwise) as well as build an environment of trust, fairness and collaboration.

• Use metrics that accurately reflect the goals - such as LOS for access, and readmissions for quality. Bring meaning to such metrics so that staff feels connected to them and they inspire teams to perform.

• In collaboration with the VP or Operations direct and support the development of the highest quality professional practice standards across the East Region.

• Develop and support efforts to reduce variations in care, eliminate waste, improve quality, and align physicians to ensure access to the highest standard of care.

• Represent Psychiatry in communities throughout the region.

• Provide supervision for Associate or Assistant Medical Directors, coaching and mentoring continuously.

• Close proximity UConn campus, which boasts a variety of dining experiences, arts and culture.

• Quick and direct access to hiking and biking trails to submerse in the serene landscapes of the Connecticut's East Region.
