Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) is seeking a highly motivated Palliative Care physician to join our team to help facilitate quality-based care for a medically diverse population of over 1.3 million patients in the Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) patient service area. The group fosters a culture inclusive of collegial relationships focusing on patient driven, quality-based care.  As we continue to grow this serviceline we are looking for a physician who will focus on the Outpatient aspect of our practice.

Education, Training, & Experience

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Ability to obtain an active medical license in the State of Georgia
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Functions well in a team environment, contributing to and supporting organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Desire to be part of the development of a world-class Endocrinology program and team.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)

Opportunity Details:

  • Palliative Care Team currently consists of three (3) Physicians and four (4) Nurse Practitioners, Social Worker and Chaplain
  • Schedule is Monday through Friday; 8am-5pm
  • This is an outpatient opportunity as we are looking to expand our outpatient role in the community.
  • Will work collaboratively with physician, nurse practitioners, other consultants and primary team, as well as an interdisciplinary team including Social Worker, Case Management and chaplain
  • Will participate in the initial consults, develop and implement care
  • Community education and outreach
  • Call is 1:5
  • EMR Platform – Integrated Epic/EHR with HIMSS Stage 7 validation
  • Exceptional employed Hospitalist & Critical Care team, consisting of over 125 providers, offers 24/7 support
  • Opportunity to work with our Hospice and Palliative Care fellows

**The ideal candidate will possess a mature, warm and patient personality with a passion for palliative medicine and care. Flexibility and compassionate bedside manner are essential. Must be a self-starter who takes initiative to work collaboratively with Interdisciplinary Team.
