MedStar Emergency Physicians (MEP), part of MedStar Medical Group, is comprised of nine top-tier emergency departments in the mid-Atlantic region. We are committed to practicing state-of-art patient-first emergency care and furthering our specialty through the development of innovative programs in emergency preparedness, information technology, transport medicine, event medicine, tele-medicine, emergency ultrasound, critical care, sports medicine, and health care policy. MEP is home to the Georgetown/MedStar Washington Hospital Center Emergency Medicine Residency Program and supports various tracks of academic appointments through Georgetown University School of Medicine.
MedStar St. Mary s Hospital is nestled in the waterside community of Leonardtown, Maryland and is a full-service hospital, with cutting edge imaging services, delivering state-of-the-art emergency, acute inpatient, and outpatient care. St. Mary's Hospital has been a part of the Southern Maryland community for more than 100 years. A refresh of the Emergency Department (ED) s main lobby and waiting area has recently been completed. The ED treats approximately 45,000 patients annually with an admission rate of 22%.
MSMH is a key contributor to system wide priorities in domains of health and wellness, chronic disease prevention and management, cancer, and behavioral health.
