The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford (UICOMR) seeks a full-time board-certified family medicine physician to join its innovative and growing department. Opportunities for growth, leadership, innovation, and scholarship abound. Our department supports full-scope family medicine, education of medical students, residents and fellows, and research. UICOMR is a well-established 4-year medical school for the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Our medical school has approximately 220 students; an average of 22% of our graduates enter Family Medicine residencies. Founded in 1971, our unopposed residency is an 8-8-7, university-based program offering full spectrum care to a diverse population. Our residents are trained in all aspects of Family Medicine, including a well-established obstetrics curriculum which includes an advanced and surgical obstetrics track. We also offer fellowships in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Headache Medicine and are launching a new Addiction Medicine fellowship. We prefer physicians with expertise in obstetrics/women’s health, fellowship training, POCUS, or a strong desire to develop an academic career. In addition to a limited clinical practice, the position provides for the supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. Protected time for development or opportunities in an area of focus is supported. The department has a large research division that is fully funded and supports our faculty in scholarship. A very attractive salary and outstanding benefits package!
