Physician - Neurologist, Epilepsy
VA Healthcare Center San Antonio, Texas
We are seeking a neurologist with a specialization in epilepsy to join our team at the VA Healthcare Center San Antonio. In this role, you will provide comprehensive epilepsy care to Veterans, including diagnosis, treatment, and management. You will also work with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement treatment plans for Veterans with complex medical conditions.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in neurology
  • Subspecialty certification in epilepsy (preferred)
  • Valid state unencumbered state medical license.
  • Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive epilepsy care to Veterans.
  • Diagnose and treat epilepsy.
  • Manage epilepsy medications.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for Veterans with complex medical conditions.
  • Work with other members of the healthcare team to provide coordinated care to Veterans.

  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
  • Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 4:30pm

Additional Information
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which can help you pay off your student loans. $200,000 of TAX-FREE money to assist paying off your student debt. 40,000 per year up to 5 Years
