UK King’s Daughters is a 465-bed regional referral center in Ashland, Kentucky and is part of the University of Kentucky health system. UK King’s Daughters owns 40+ primary care clinics in outlying areas of Kentucky and Ohio which refer patients from a catchment area of about 750,000 people to our main campus for testing and treatment. Earlier this year, we began a large construction project on campus, which will provide the medical center with a brand-new ER and an all-new Imaging Department.

For the position of Dermatologist, we offer a guaranteed base salary of $530,000, plus wRVU productivity compensation. The incoming physician also will earn excellent benefits, including health, vision, dental and life insurance, long term disability, 401k/403b retirement plans and a CAP retirement savings plan for physicians only. The Dermatologist will receive six weeks of vacation annually plus one additional week for CME and $5,000 for CME expenses. KDMC also offers a signing bonus and student loan repayment. Currently, the community has only one full-time Dermatologist, so the need for Dermatology services is tremendous. For many years, three Dermatologists practiced full-time in the Ashland community.

Ashland, KY is a town of about 25,000 people, located along the Ohio River, with minimal traffic, a beautiful and very active performing arts theater, indoor tennis center, a large downtown park, and boutique shopping. Our Tri-State region (Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia) is renowned for safe, family friendly communities with an excellent cost of living. Some of the country’s finest state parks that feature golf, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting and biking are located in the area. We have four seasons – all of which are relatively mild. Ashland is also a short drive to metro cities in Ohio (Cincinnati and Columbus) and Kentucky (Lexington and Louisville) and is located about 20 minutes from Huntington, WV, a town about twice the size of Ashland and the home of Marshall University. Additionally, about two hours away in West Virginia, there is excellent snow skiing and the New River Gorge National Park, which offers multiple outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and hiking.
