The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Show Low Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) serves as a practicing Primary Care Physician who is responsible for the overall management of patients enrolled for healthcare services provided by the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PHVAHCS). The CMO is responsible for administrative tasks associated with clinic operations. You will also be responsible for managing and directing a variety of technical and administrative support services critical to clinic operation. You have full delegated authority and responsibility for the coordination and oversight of clinical and administrative activities in the outpatient clinic. The CMO will collaborate and work closely with executive level administration to direct the clinic staff in furthering the mission of the organization. You’re responsible for the oversight and coordination of process improvement initiatives, assuring teamwork, and addressing customer service issues in the clinic. The CMO is expected to have the requisite coordination skills to work successfully with leadership of primary care, specialty care, nursing service, other support service, academic affiliates, veterans' service organizations, as well as stakeholders of the Show Low CBOC. 

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay: Competitive salary + annual performance bonus + regular salary increases.

Paid-Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid-time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).

Recruitment Incentives: Sign-on incentive may be authorized for highly qualified candidates.

Education Debt Reduction Program: Up to $200,000 in student loan repayment.

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401k with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement.

Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
