Associate Director of Clinical Training in Psychology

Description:
Are you a clinician or a psychologist? Can you see yourself working as a trainer in higher education? Pratt Institute has the position for you if you have outstanding leadership qualities and wish to devote your time to the advancement of other doctoral trainees. A capable Leader to oversee our Clinical Training Program and Supervisor for our clinical Trainees is what we are seeking. This role is for you if you have expertise in coordinating a training program and supervising other clinicians on all levels of therapeutic services, including intake evaluations, treatment planning and disposition, crisis intervention, referrals, and ongoing individual and group therapy. You'll be responsible for organizing culturally inclusive and psychodynamic-oriented didactic seminars, curriculum, and case conferences for trainees. You will also handle a self-study review for the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), follow APA accreditation, and more. An analytical thinker that is able to establish and maintain quality metrics while evaluating training effectiveness and much more.

POSITION DUTIES

Administrative Duties:

 

 

  • Supervise trainees on all levels of clinical services including intake assessments, treatment planning and disposition, crisis intervention, referrals, and on-going individual and group therapy
  • Manage APPIC and other directories as a means to recruit training candidates
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.


Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $110,000-$120,000. The position will be hybrid and requires in-person presence 3 days per week.

Qualifications:
Education: Doctorate in psychology, clinical, counseling or a related field strongly preferred with additional experience teaching and supervising other clinicians.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience with a primary psychodynamic focus for doctoral trainees at different stages of development. The ideal candidate is an experienced, licensed psychologist interested in leadership and participation in the development of a growing training program based in a university counseling center. Experience in higher education is a plus.

Knowledge: Experience and scholarly understanding of adolescent and young adult development. Scholarly research and teaching in the context of a training program is strongly desired.

Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity addressing issues of concern facing students from diverse backgrounds in higher education, as well as demonstrated level of cultural competence.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: NYS licensed clinical psychologist who has experience supervising and coordinating a doctoral training program in psychology within a higher education setting,
