UCSF HEAL Global Health Fellow

The HEAL Initiative recruits US-trained physicians from various specialties (IM, FM, Med-Peds, Peds, OBGYN, Psychiatry, Surgery, Anesthesiology) who are passionate about global health equity.

The 2-year fellowship immerses fellows at partner organizations aiding the underserved in both the US and an International site. Half of the HEAL fellows are US physicians, and half are fellows from our partner sites, creating an incredibly diverse professional training community.

During the two-year fellowship, Rotating Fellows are paired. Each fellow rotates between an underserved domestic and international site. At each location, Rotating Fellows work closely with Site Fellows selected by our partner organizations. Collectively, Rotating Fellows and Site Fellows participate in all aspects of the fellowship.

HEAL (Health, Equity, Action, and Leadership) trains and transforms front line health professionals through building a community dedicated to serving the under-served as their lifelong choice.
