Position Description
Serve as a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics.  Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in the areas of Infectious Disease and Pediatrics.  This will include providing clinical care, teaching, and performing research in Infectious Disease and Pediatric care.

Department – Pediatrics, Lubbock

Major/Essential Functions - Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, patient care, research and service.  Teaching residents and medical students.  Giving lectures and teaching sessions to residents and medical students.  Medical practice in area of Infectious Diseases and Pediatrics.  Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

Occasional Duties
Maintain or develop an academic research program in the fields of infectious disease and pediatrics.  May conduct inpatient teaching rounds.

Required Qualifications
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held.  Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.

Preferred Qualifications
Requires:  M.D., D.O., or Foreign medical degree equivalent, eligibility to obtain a Texas State Medical License, completion of a Residency in Pediatrics, completion of a Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and Board Certification or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
