This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

The FHCC is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the US Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense (DoD), integrating all medical care into a federal health care facility with a single combined VA and Navy mission: "Readying Warriors and Caring for Heroes." Your patients will be a mix of both veterans and active-duty military, including recruits at the Great Lakes Naval Base.
Opportunities available:
• Comprehensive medical and selected specialty services for outpatients.
• Patient care to veterans in the sub-specialty Cardiology
• Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with cardiac diseases
• Educate and collaborate with residents and other trainees assigned to the Cardiology clinic
• Perform chart reviews and coordinate with Hospitalists regarding patient care issues.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year(26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year, and possible 5-day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401 K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
