Department of Pediatrics | Texas Children’s Hospital – Austin

Seeking a Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist who is interested in Infection & Prevention control, and/or Antimicrobial Stewardship for Texas Children's Hospital in Austin. 

Candidates may be hired at Assistant or Associate Professor rank, depending on experience and track record.

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a qualified physician to be a part of an initially two-member Pediatric Infectious Diseases team who will serve as full-time faculty for the Infectious Diseases service at the new state of the arc North Austin campus.

Set to open in early 2024, our new hospital in Austin will increase access to quality healthcare for children and women across central Texas. This position is a rare opportunity to participate in the start, growth and expansion of a BRAND-NEW medical facility and campus aimed to serve the growing population of Austin Texas. Job Duties

  • The physician will spend the majority of his/her time on the inpatient consultation service or in the Pediatric Infectious Diseases outpatient clinic and will devote a percentage of time as Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship or Medical Director of Infection Prevention & Control.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successfully completed a Fellowship Program in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
  • One to three years Pediatric Infectious Diseases patient care experience is preferred.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Strong work ethic and adherence to the highest moral and ethical standards
  • Flexibility and desire for continuous improvement, learning, and dedication to excellent patient care.
