Clinical setting:

Full Scope OB-GYN Practice

• High risk OB and complex GYN cases
• Certified Nurse Mid-Wives- 19 on staff do most deliveries, with consult from OB-GYN.
• Call Schedule
• On average work 2 L&D Shifts a week
• 3 clinic days 0r a combination of Clinic, Consult and Surgery shifts.

Labor & Delivery

• 150 bed hospital
• 16 Mother baby unit
• 8 Delivery rooms
• 2 C-section Room

Rural Medicine

• Consult in rural villages a couple times a year.
• NP/PA in larger villages
• Health Aides in rest of villages
• A person for the village that has been trained and works off a triage book.
• Tertiary Care Center- OB-GYN s make decisions about transporting patients out of rural AK.
