NYU Grossman School of Medicine, part of NYU Langone Health, is seeking a Division Director for Academic General Pediatrics at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The Division Director will lead the faculty in all clinical and academic mission areas, including clinical service, education of trainees at all levels, research program development, and administrative activities of all divisional programs.
General responsibilities include coordinating and enhancing all clinical, academic and research activities of the Division. The Director will also be primarily responsible for creating and implementing the vision and goals for the Division, in alignment with the broader strategic plans for the Department of Pediatrics and the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Academic responsibilities include overseeing all divisional faculty, advancing their careers by providing professional and personal development opportunities, overseeing high-quality innovative training, supporting research activities for the division, and modeling a culture of inquiry to ensure active engagement in quality improvement, scholarly excellence and innovation in all missions.
Administrative responsibilities include creating an environment of excellence and innovation in clinical practice that supports positive patient outcomes.
The rapidly growing Department of Pediatrics at NYU Langone Health is home to the newly built 160,000 SF Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital with 68 single-bedded patient rooms and 47 neonatal beds, designed to be uniquely child-friendly and family-oriented. NYU pediatric faculty provide care across several NYU General Pediatric Faculty Group Practices located throughout Manhattan and for inpatients and outpatients at NYC Health Hospitals/Bellevue, the country’s oldest public hospital and the flagship of the public hospital system of NYC. The Department ranks 16th in FY 2022 NIH funding, and is home to a large cohort in the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes Program and the Clinical Science Core of the RECOVER Long-COVID Research Program.
Salary range: $224,000 – $320,000 The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.
Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to service, a track record of achievement in their field of expertise, and an interest in fulfilling the common goals of the Department of Pediatrics at NYU Langone Health. Qualified candidates must also:
- Hold Board Certification in General Pediatrics and be eligible for NYS Licensure
- Meet qualifications for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor on the Scholar or Tenure track
- Have expertise in Population Health and / or Health Equity
