Infectious Diseases Faculty Position with Focus on Transplant Infectious Diseases
The Department of Medicine, Section of Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas seeks a transplant infectious diseases faculty member to join our academic program. We seek a clinician-educator or clinician-researcher of any faculty rank to join our expanding clinical practice at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Transplant Center. The faculty member will have responsibilities for providing direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care in infectious diseases, focused on adults before and after transplantation, especially solid organ transplantation. The faculty member will also develop and refine transplant protocols for the transplant program from the infectious diseases perspective and work with other transplant team members to meet CMS and UNOS benchmarks. The position includes engaging in scholarly products and participating in the education mission by supervising and training medical students, residents, clinical and research fellows, and other trainees. While the position is open to qualified persons early in their academic career, faculty with leadership or substantial clinical experience will be considered for clinical leadership of the transplant infectious diseases program. The position is open to all faculty ranks; incoming academic rank will be based on previous academic and clinical experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or equivalent
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases
- Completion of a transplant infectious diseases training program or at least 3 years relevant experience
- Authorized to work in the US without need for Visa sponsorship
