Physician, Pathologist

The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System (SLVHCS) is currently recruiting for a full-time Pathologist at the New Orleans VA Medical Center. The Pathologist would routinely participate in surgical pathology and cytopathology sign-out, as well as frozen sections.

Candidates must possess MD/DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training to board certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State or territory.

Additional requirements:

• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, preferred.
• Fellowship and/or certification in Transfusion Medicine, a plus.

Highlights of this opportunity:

• Potential starting base salary range: $240,000 - $280,000
• Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm with on-call rotations.
• Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans up to $200K over 5 years, if approved.
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
• No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
