Overview

WomanCare Centers a Mid-Atlantic Women's Care division, and affiliate of Unified Women's Healthcare, is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician to join their growing practice in coastal Virginia. WCC is an established practice that has served the Tidewater area for over 33 years and draws patients from Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. WCC is the only practice in the area that promotes a true collaborative model between midwives and physicians. Our group of 7 physicians and 4 midwives work closely together to offer high and low risk obstetric care and full-service gynecologic care to patients in our area.

We offer outpatient care to our patients in two office locations, one in Norfolk and the other on the Sentara Leigh Hospital campus near Virginia Beach Town Center. We currently have a project underway for 12,000 sf state of the art office space to open in fall of 2023! The plans for our new space include a full-service women's health building housing three ob/gyn practices, two procedure rooms for outpatient surgical procedures and an imaging center. This is an exciting project for our practice and any incoming physicians.

OBSTETRIC SERVICES:

* Average 75-80 deliveries/month
* Collaborative midwife/physician work model
* WomanCare Midwifery
* Low risk obstetric program within our practice
* Inpatient midwifery births
* Established 23 years ago by our providers
* 4 experienced CNMs

* Centering in pregnancy program
* Created in 2017 with a grant from the March of Dimes
* Midwives and physicians certified as group leaders/educators

* High risk obstetrics
* Working relationship with maternal fetal medicine division at EVMS and on site MFM physician in our office every Friday

* Deliveries at the Family Maternity Center at Sentara Leigh Hospital
* Sentara Leigh Family Maternity Center
* 16 labor beds, 25 postpartum beds
* 3000 deliveries/year

GYNECOLOGIC SERVICES:

* All physicians trained in advanced laparoscopy
* 4 physicians trained in robotic surgery with the Da Vinci system
* Physicians operate with each other on major cases; provides teaching and learning opportunities for new physicians
* Physicians perform office procedures including hysteroscopies, D&Cs, LEEPs, endometrial ablations and saline infusion sonograms.
* Staff trained in assisting in office procedures and office protocols to maintain safety standards in the outpatient setting.
* Urogynecology consults available at EVMS
* Gynecologic oncology consults at Virginia Oncology
