Position Highlights:
Ochsner Pediatric Orthopaedics, along with the other pediatric specialties, has grown dramatically over the past 6 years. We are a major referral center for the gulf south and regularly see patients from Texas to Florida and beyond. We see all pathologies within pediatrics and have the advantage of being tied to a major adult referral center, which gives us access to technologies and specialists that aren t readily available at most Childrens Hospitals. This also gives us the ability to treat young adults. Several multi-disciplinary clinics exist including bone dysplasia, neuromuscular, and myelodysplasia clinics. Ochsner Department of Orthopaedics takes three residents a year with two residents on the pediatric orthopaedic rotation at a time. Ochsner is also affiliated with the University of Queensland Medical School. For those with research interests, we have an active research program and team and are involved in many local and multi center trials. Our new motion analysis lab was built this year and is continuing to evolve rapidly with potential for clinical and research utilization. In 2022, Ochsner Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery was ranked for the first time in USNWR as a top 50 program.
