The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai Health System is offering an opportunity for a clinician with academic interests. The Division is seeking a clinician at the level of Assistant Professor to support its growth at its Mount Sinai Morningside Campus. The position will be based at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, which is central to Mount Sinai Health System’s transformation into a leader in Population Health. 

The endocrinologist would provide clinical care in the outpatient and inpatient setting for patients with endocrine conditions at both campuses. As such, the candidate should have demonstrated interest and documented experience in care for all endocrine conditions including diabetes, obesity, pituitary, bone and thyroid, teaching and clinical research activities. The endocrinologist would join an established team of 7 physicians and 6 certified diabetes educators and play an important role in educating endocrinology fellows and medical residents. Collaboration across specialties and an interest in clinical and / or translational research are expected. This position is for a full-time faculty in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone at the Mount Sinai Morningside (formerly St. Luke's) and Mount Sinai West Hospitals, at the level of Assistant Professor on the Clinical Educator Track in the Department of Medicine. Mount Sinai Morningside is the leading health care provider for West Harlem and Morningside Heights. Facilities at Morningside include the Physiolab equipped with a BodPod, metabolic cart, and metabolic chamber. 

Cardiothoracic, vascular, and bariatric surgery are key onsite specialties. Mount Sinai West serves patients from Midtown and the West Side of Manhattan, New York City, and beyond. Specialties include neurosurgery, urology, O&G, and ENT. Endocrinology clinics are delivered from the new multi-million-dollar multi-specialty clinic at Morningside opened in February 2021 and additional locations on the West side of Manhattan. The initial term of the faculty appointment will be for three years. The faculty member will be a board-certified Endocrinologist who will be recommended for membership on the medical staff of The Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West, and Mount Sinai Hospital. The faculty member will participate in the Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice, where she/he will engage in clinical practice. This position is a clinical practice position, and the total effort breakdown will be 90% clinical (direct patient care) and 10% administrative. The total effort will be directed to approximately 75% Outpatient Practice, 15% Inpatient Practice, 10% clinical administrative time.

  • New York Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology
