Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Spine Neurosurgery at the Assistant Professor level.
Description
The Department of Neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position. Fellowship training is preferred in the specific area of spinal surgery. Clinical responsibilities include treatment of patients with all types of spinal disorders utilizing the latest in standard and innovative surgical techniques. Teaching responsibilities include education of medical students, residents, and spine fellows. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include primary and collaborative research in spinal surgery with funding from the NIH or other federal agencies, philanthropy, or industry. Ambition for involvement and leadership in national/international spinal surgical societies is preferred.
Requirements
Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants must be ABNS certified or board eligible. Candidates should have a strong desire to develop a robust clinical practice as well as innovative clinical programs in spine surgery and should expect to assist in the growth of the clinical, education and research program. Clinical training in endoscopic spine surgery is preferred.
