The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) seeks an outstanding candidate specializing in Breast Pathology to join its internationally recognized team. The Department offers the opportunity to work at a highly ranked academic center with protected time to pursue research and other academic interests.

Opportunity Highlights\n
  • Qualified candidates must hold an MD (or its equivalent), have or be eligible for a valid California Medical License, and be either Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology with fellowship training or equivalent clinical experience/expertise in Breast Pathology
  • Opportunity to devote 100% of clinical effort to breast pathology
  • The breast specialty service manages a diverse and complex spectrum of breast pathology specimens
  • The UCSF immunohistochemistry lab offers a wide array of biomarkers and continually adds emerging ones
  • The UCSF Clinical Cancer Genomics Lab runs targeted gene sequencing, microsatellite instability testing, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and a 500+ gene next-generation sequencing panel for advanced diagnostic and prognostic molecular testing in patients with cancer
  • Join an internationally recognized breast cancer team including breast surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, psychologists, and nutritionists working collaboratively to revolutionize breast cancer screening and treatment
  • Current faculty's work spans a spectrum from basic science to public policy issues and the impact of both on the delivery of clinical care
  • Participate in the I-SPY TRIALS, a ground-breaking national public-private collaboration among NCI, FDA, more than 20 cancer research centers, and major pharma, biotech companies as well as the University of California-wide Athena Breast Health Network, a learning system designed to integrate clinical care and research as it follows 150,000 women from screening through treatment and outcomes
  • Work at one of the highest-ranking programs in the nation, offering mentorship from world-renowned and internationally recognized specialists
  • UCSF faculty position with protected time for research/academic interests
  • The educational programs include a large residency program as well as fellowships in breast pathology, cytopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology, gynecologic pathology, neuropathology, genitourinary pathology, and surgical pathology

Required Qualifications
